Matterway’s debut at Mobile World Congress 2025 was a significant milestone, showcasing our journey and collaborations from the past 6 months that have truly fueled our growth.
The journey to MWC began in September 2024 when Matterway was selected to participate in hubraum, Tech Incubator of Deutsche Telekom’s, AI Co-Creation Program in Berlin.
The AI Co-Creation Program led us through a series of mentoring sessions to further develop our agentic assistant, which targets enhanced productivity for operations teams.
"Being part of this selective program and event was our first step towards significant industry recognition," Tim Pfeiffer, our Head of Sales & Customer Success explained.
By November 14, 2024, our efforts brought us to Deutsche Telekom HQ in Bonn for their ExplorAItion Day, where we showcased their Matterway agentic assistant.
During this event, Matterway caught the attention of Tim Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom. His reaction to the demo and presentation: "I love it, I want it," was not just a compliment but a clear endorsement of our direction and potential to drive productivity in operations teams.
During our collaboration with Deutsche Telekom, Matterway helped improve DTSE's complex learning administration, which previously took 45 minutes and 132 actions across multiple systems. Tasks like gathering data in Pega, creating training in HR Suite, purchasing in MyPortal, and updating tickets were tedious. We reduced the process to 12 minutes with minimal steps in just four weeks, significantly improving efficiency and user experience.
“Matterway helped us streamline our most complex learning administration process, reducing the handling time from 45 minutes to 12 in just four weeks of implementation,” said Nikolaj Gyde, VP Customer Touchpoints, Shared Services Delivery at DTSE.
Encouraged by Matterway’s innovation and success, hubraum extended an invite to MWC in Barcelona, an event where industry leaders, policymakers, founders, and tech innovators come together for the future of connectivity.
With a booth in the hubraum area, Matterway had a prime location that allowed us to maximize exposure and engage effectively with potential partners and industry leaders.
"The placement of our booth was instrumental in drawing a continuous stream of intrigued attendees," noted Philipp Draheim, our BPO GTM & Account Manager.
Matterway was selected as one of the three startups with a human-centered AI theme to pitch on the Deutsche Telekom stage at MWC. It was a great moment for us, as a lot of people showed interest and appreciation. See some of the presentation given by Tim Pfeiffer below.
"Receiving such positive feedback from various attendees really confirmed the relevance and impact of our offerings," said Tim Pfeiffer.
During the event, Matterway also caught the attention of several major consulting firms, leading to an unexpected and valuable endorsement.
“One notable instance was when one of the Big 4 featured Matterway in a presentation we saw when we were walking by,” explained Philipp Draheim. “Another leading consulting firm with deep technology expertise even invited us to present to the C-Suite of their Telco clients. These acknowledgments confirmed that our solutions resonate with people.”
The success from the ExplorAItion Day and MWC were more than just events for Matterway, they were places to explore new opportunities, and partnerships, which led us to receive overwhelming validation of our vision and solution.
"MWC surpassed our expectations, setting a new trajectory for our growth and expansion," Tim Pfeiffer explained. "The discussions we engaged in and the recognition we received have opened doors that could significantly shape the future of Matterway.”
The high-profile endorsement from industry leaders, especially another acknowledgment from Deutsche Telekom's CEO, Tim Höttges, provided an invaluable boost. See his post on MWC that mentions Matterway here.
“As we move forward, the insights and connections gained at MWC are all thanks to Deutsch Telekom and hubraum—their efforts were essential in guiding us to the right people and opportunities,” said Anthony Hsiao, Co-founder and CEO of Matterway. “We’re excited for what’s next.”
